Dubrovnik, a city of rich history and the center of Dubrovnik-Neretva County, is positioned in the southernmost part of Croatia, on the Adriatic Sea.

In early 19th century first celebrities already started visiting the city. Apart from royal families’ members, presidents and diplomats, the biggest names in show business, culture, sports and the business world have also visited Dubrovnik. In 1979. Dubrovnik is added to UNESCO’s World Heritage list.

Dubrovnik is the result of benevolent nature and man’s hard work. The city has a crystal-clear sea, 250 sunny days a year, wonderful beaches, the beautiful smell of Mediterranean herbs and master-pieces of Renaissance and Baroque architecture hundreds of years old.

Numerous Croatian poets, writers and painters were born in Dubrovnik, a city which remains an eternal source of inspiration to many artists.

Many international cultural events are held in Dubrovnik each year, such as the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, Dubrovnik International Film Festival, Rachlin and Friends Festival and Dubrovnik Shakespeare Festival.

Dubrovnik is also famous for its wide selection of gastronomic specialties, from Neretva dishes, freshwater fish and game meat, to first-grade oysters from Ston which are a symbol of luxury. Since the best Croatian wines such as Plavac, Dingač, Postup and Pošip come from the Dubrovnik region, they are simply an indispensable and inevitable part of the local lifestyle.
