The Pelesjac Peninsula, famous for its organic wine is only a short drive away, affording the chance to explore Ston and its historic wall, very similar in construction to the Great Wall of China, the views from the top are absolutely stunning. Pelesjac Peninsula has many beautiful bays and beaches, Drace, Zjuliana and Orebic to name but a few. From Orebic you can catch a ferry to the island of Korcula, the Stari Grad (old town) is a mini Dubrovnik, famous for its handmade jewellery stores, most of the jewellery is made from natural stones.
Adjacent to Duboka are the beach resorts of Klek and Komarna very nice resorts with Pizzarias and Seafood restaurants and small souvenir shops, there is generally a beach disco on Klek beach on Mondy evenings during the season.
Duboka is very well located for exploring Bosnia -Hercegovinia being only a 30 minute drive from the Bosnian border, it would be a shame not to spend a day exploring Mostar and seeing the historic stone bridge over the beautiful river Neretva, and on your way back to Duboka stop off in Buna where you can view the source of the river Buna whilst eating a superb fish supper which is as cheap as chips.
The river Neretva runs to the sea at Blace, Blace is only a 20 minute drive from Duboka and is really worth a visit for its sandy beaches and the Kite surfing, Blace is the Kite surfing capital of Croatia as the winds and currents there are ideally suited for it.

Duboka has a small but very well stocked supermarket, for longer stays Metkovic has 3 large supermarkets, Tomy, Konzum and Lidl where a large range of international groceries can be purchased.
